As we step into the 2025–2026 season, we take pride in having successfully completed our import process.

Our operations carried out through Mersin Port proceeded, as always, with high coordination and dedication. Despite the complex structure of the global supply chain, fluctuations in logistics, and rising cost pressures, we managed this process successfully.

Throughout this period, we improved not only our products but also our reliability, continuity, and planning discipline. We once again saw how important it is for the sustainability of agriculture to think strategically at every step and make the right moves at the right time. We proved that no link in this chain—which extends all the way to the farmer in the field—should be left to chance.

As AR TARIM, we view our import process not merely as a logistics activity but as a strategic investment in the future of our growers and the reliability of our company. Every variety that arrives does not simply go into the soil; it reaches the field blended with knowledge, experience, and trust.

Time, quality, and trust mean everything in agriculture. With this awareness, we were hands-on at every stage of our import process. As the AR TARIM team, we recently completed the import operations we carried out at Mersin Port successfully. Our on-site team worked in full force to ensure our seed lots were received without issues, all inspections were finalized, and every logistics step progressed seamlessly.

We are going through a challenging period—rising costs, shifting customs policies, and logistics headwinds. Yet, as always, we have never compromised on our principle of “customer satisfaction.” To deliver high-quality seed to farms on time, we went above and beyond—taking an extra step whenever needed.

This dedicated team effort was the clearest proof that AR TARIM is not only a supplier but also a strong solution partner. Behind the import process lies intense coordination, meticulous attention to detail, and a family working with true team spirit. AR TARIM at Potato Days Turkey 2025

At Potato Days Turkey in Avanos/Nevşehir, we met with growers and business partners at our stand. We presented our portfolio and next-generation varieties— Agria, Babylon, Paradiso, Donata, Jelly, Arizona, and next-generation varieties such as Beyonce, Nevadina, and Saratoga Russet —supported by up-to-date field insights. We shared our approach to haulm desiccation—harvest timing, uniform grading, and storage resilience—gathered valuable visitor feedback, and built strong contacts for new-season collaborations.

With our SCEN branding framework (Service, Communication, Experience, New-Generation Varieties), we reaffirmed our commitment to transparent service, reliable supply, and measurable results.

A new balance in McDonald’s fry potatoes: Donata & Etana are on the rise, Innovator pulls back

Starting in 2025, McDonald’s Netherlands will transition a portion of its fries to Europlant’s Donata variety, while Etana is emerging as a standout among the scaled-up alternatives. Field reports indicate that, with this shift, the share of the long-time classic Innovator is gradually declining. The rationale is clear: stronger climate resilience, lower input needs, and consistent frying quality throughout the season.

McDonald’s and its supply partners’ investments with a “local and sustainable” focus are increasing the country-level share of next-generation processing varieties such as Donata and Etana.
